Very early arrival at Istanbul airport with a slight feeling of chaos at the border.

Crazy crowd at the border….

After settling and resting in our Airbnb we decide to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the capital.

First exploration of the city in the rain.
The Galata Tower
Looking for a restaurant along the Bosphorus.
Note that the owner of the pizzeria is not very happy to see me take the picture..
Visit to Topkapi Palace.
Istanbul is a very beautiful and popular city. Here near the great mosques.
The world-famous Hagia Sophia.
Originally founded as a cathedral has been turned back into a mosque.
Walking trough to the Grand Bazaar.
An experience that stimulates your senses
And of course we couldn’t leave without buying an authentic Turkish rug!
The Basilica Cistern.
World-famed as the largest of several hundred ancient city cisterns, this 6th century cistern lies beneath Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia.
there was a sculpture exhibition.
European type architecture in the streets of Istanbul.

The city of cats.
Istiklal Street, the “Champs Elysee” of Istanbul
Unfortunately it is in this same street that will take place a few months later a bomb attack.

We like to get lost in its pedestrian streets.

After wandering for five days in the streets of Istanbul, we decide to rent a car to discover the Asian part of Turkey.
